Physician Peer Support Division - Mountains to Mountains
Skip to content

The Physician Peer Support Division of Mountains to Mountains is a physician-led peer support network built to serve health care providers in rural communities. Led by practicing clinicians, the program trains volunteer peer support specialists, physicians and advanced practice providers, to offer confidential, judgment-free support to colleagues navigating burnout, moral injury, compassion fatigue, adverse clinical events, workplace trauma, and the everyday strain of work-life balance in medicine.

President: Sara Bush, MD

Dr. Bush leads the Physician Peer Support Initiative as part of her broader commitment to rural health infrastructure and physician wellness, guiding the program’s training standards and its founding cohort of volunteer peer support specialists.

Why Peer Support

The peer support relationship is based on the connection and understanding that comes from having experienced a similar challenge. It follows that the most appropriate person to support a provider navigating workplace trauma, moral injury, or the stress of work-life balance is someone who has lived these challenges themselves.
