Taos New Mexico Chapter
Headed up by Chapter President, Veronica Parker, M.D., FAAP, the Taos Chapter of Mountains to Mountains serves the interest of the mountain community of Taos. Nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos is one of the very few communities in which a person could ski, mountain bike, rock climb and whitewater raft all in the same day. The Taos Chapter of Mountains to Mountains focuses on promoting children’s safety in the outdoors.

Veronica Parker, M.D., FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics who is deeply committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of children and families, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Her work focuses not only on physical health, but also on the emotional and environmental factors that shape long-term resilience and development.
As the President of the Taos Chapter of Mountains to Mountains, Dr. Parker brings together her medical background and love of the outdoors to create trauma-informed, healing-centered programs for youth. Through initiatives like the Holistic Wilderness Medicine for Youth course, she helps young people build confidence, connection, and practical skills that support both safety and wellbeing.
